Parent Association
These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.
Deuteronomy 6:6-9 Welcome to our HCA family! All parents are automatically part of the HCA Parents’ Association by virtue of having a student enrolled at HCA. There are no dues to be paid. In order for your student to succeed while here at HCA, the parent-teacher relationship is of the utmost importance. I believe the Parents’ Association has a dual role in the HCA family. 1. We have committed to sending our students to HCA to receive a high-quality education. One of our roles as parents is to help the teachers do what he/she does best. This may mean volunteering in the classroom or at various events, providing resources (i.e., additional materials for projects in the classroom, or sharing a talent that coordinates with something in the curriculum being studied.) It is our responsibility to provide reinforcement at home (e.g., ensuring homework is completed and returned properly, assisting in preparing necessary projects that enhance student learning, and/or reviewing the expectations for student behavior at school and school-related functions.) 2. As the President of your association (and a former educator), I believe it is my responsibility to keep you informed about different facets of school. I want to provide you with resources to help you better help your child (i.e., homework tips, questions to ask during parent conferences, your role during student-led conferences, etc.) Remember, in order for HCA to operate well we always need volunteers. Your time, talents, thoughts, and donations are always appreciated. We always want input from you! We welcome your concerns, comments and suggestions. There has been a new feature added to our website that allows you to contact me with questions, comments, or concerns. Please feel free to contact me. I look forward to hearing from you. In addition, my contact information is listed below. Thank you for all that you do to make your child successful.
