Students will learn in-depth applications of modeling and applying functions. Each mathematical concept will be taught by practical applications and use of technology especially the calculator.

Required Daily Materials:

  • TI-83 or TI-84 calculators with batteries
  • Assigned Blitzer Algebra & Trigonometry textbook
  • Paper
  • Lots of pencils

Grading:

  • Homework-class work –will be assigned daily. Ten points will be deducted from 100 each time it is not completed. Two homework grades will be earned per six weeks. These assignments will be posted on the website daily.

  • Surprises

Major Objectives:

  • Model linear, polynomial, exponential, power, and logarithmic functions
  • Analyze and apply theoretical and experimental probability concepts
  • Compare methods of data collection
  • Use piecewise-defined functions
  • Use power functions
  • Use radical expressions and equations
  • Use exponential and logarithmic functions
  • Use discrete math
  • Use trigonometric functions

Advanced Functions reinforces Algebra II and prepares one for college. Many of your assignments will be finished in class. Together we will prepare for your next level of math.
