Major Course Objectives
                                    Over the course of duration of the course, students will develop a level of understanding of the importance of three distinct areas.

  1. The importance of leadership skills in biotechnology by utilizing the FFA.
  2. Understanding the importance of record keeping in personal and professional arenas.
  3. Gain an understanding of how biotechnology has evolved and become a part of our daily lives.

Portfolio Requirements                                               25% of grade

  1. Prepare a 3-5 minute speech on “International Agricultural Relations and Food and Fiber Systems”.

(First semester), Written copies due November 10, 2008. Speeches will be presented to the class November 11 & 12, 2008.
(Second Semester), Written copies due April 8, 2008.
Speeches will be presented to the class April 9 &10, 2008.
Formal Test and Evaluation                            50% of grade

  1. End of first 8 weeks examination      (25%)
  2. End of semester examination            (25%)

  2. My style of teaching involves a great deal of interaction between the teacher and students as well as among students in class. Therefore, I will place great emphasis on class participation and a significant portion of your grade will be derived from your willful, intelligent, and active engagement with me and your classmates.
  3. All written assignments must include:
